Your cycle stays yours

A period, ovulation and pregnancy calendar. Entries on your phone are locked with a key that is yours alone. Change phones and the cloud copy brings them back by itself.

Built the other way around

Most trackers ask you to hand over the most intimate details of your life, and stay quiet about where that goes next.

On your phone, only you read them
The database key sits in the system’s secure storage and never leaves the device.
No ad will follow you
The app carries no advertising library, and the entries are encrypted — there is nothing to hand an ad network.
The forecast never fakes certainty
Kvit says where the number came from — and when it cannot calculate one reliably, it says that instead.

Kvit is built the other way around: your entries are encrypted on the phone itself — the database key lives in the system’s secure storage and is never sent anywhere, so on the phone nobody but you can read them. They travel to your cloud copy encrypted the same way; that copy exists so your entries come back by themselves on a new phone the moment you sign in. Its key is kept by us — and we say so plainly rather than promise the impossible.

An honest forecast

Sometimes Kvit says it cannot calculate

Every forecast is labelled with where its number came from. While you have few records, it says so. And when your records cannot support a reliable calculation, Kvit does not draw a date at all.

Next menstruation

  1. Few records yet

    from your answer

The forecast rests on what you entered during setup, not on recorded cycles. A few more cycles and it will come from yours.

  2. Enough records

The number is now calculated from your own cycles. The label disappears — it was there only while the number had nothing to stand on.

  3. Cannot calculate

    no forecast

A reliable calculation is not possible from the available records. The dates you marked stay where they are — Kvit simply does not invent a number.

The forecast is calculated from what you record. Miss a start date and the next number shifts — and the label says so.

A fertile window is a guide, not a contraceptive.

Blog

How we write

  • We accept sources at the level of NHS, ACOG and the WHO. Nothing below that.
  • We do not diagnose and we do not replace a doctor. Where a subject calls for a professional, we say so.
  • Every article shows its publication date and the date it was last reviewed — on the page, not only in the markup.

Privacy

Privacy you can check

Here is exactly how it is built — what we can do and what we cannot. So you do not have to take our word for it.

Key

Our server

Ciphertext only

Encrypted on the phone first

An entry is encrypted before anything goes near the network. Only ciphertext travels to the server — plain text never does.

  • AES-256. The key sits in the Keychain on iOS and the Keystore on Android, and never leaves the device.
  • This is all the server gets: a uuid, a user id, the ciphertext and a timestamp.

How it is built

The database on your phone is fully encrypted

AES-256. The key is held in the system’s secure storage — Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android — and never leaves the device.

The cloud copy holds ciphertext only

Entries are encrypted on the phone and only then uploaded: the server receives ciphertext, a record id and a change timestamp. Its key is kept by us — which is exactly why your entries come back by themselves once you sign in on a new phone.

What we can do, said plainly

We cannot read the entries on your phone: the database key sits in the system store and never leaves the device. The key to the cloud copy is ours, so technically we do have access to that. It is the price of your entries coming back by themselves, and we are not hiding it in a footnote.

Notes, mood, symptoms, diary and photos

Carry a further layer of their own on top of the database — and that is the form in which they travel to the cloud copy.

What you control

Unlock with PIN or biometrics

Turn it on and the app will not open even on an unlocked phone.

No ads, and the analytics cannot see your entries

There are no advertising libraries in Kvit, and your entries are not sold or passed to ad networks. The app uses Google Analytics to see which screens get used — but the contents of your entries are closed to it: they are encrypted with a key that stays on your phone.

Delete everything in one action

Any time, in one action — with one confirmation, because the step cannot be undone. The privacy policy describes the app as it is today — including the parts that are inconvenient for us.

What is free and what is not

No tricks — here is the exact split.

FreeKvit+

The cloud copy is free: privacy should not be a paid feature. There are no ads in Kvit.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Kvit without signing up?

Yes. Kvit works without signing in — your entries live on your phone. An account is only needed if you want a cloud copy or access from a second device.

Who can read my entries?

On the phone, only you. The database file is fully encrypted (AES-256), with its key held in the system’s secure storage and never leaving the device. Entries reach the cloud copy already encrypted, so the server only ever holds ciphertext — but its key is kept by us, so technically we can read them. We say so plainly: that copy exists precisely so your entries can be handed back to you on a new phone.

What if I lose my phone?

Sign in on the new phone and your entries come back by themselves. Nothing to save in advance, no code to type — that is what the cloud copy is for. If you never turned the copy on, your entries lived only on the phone you lost, and neither you nor we can bring them back.

What is visible on the server in the clear?

The last-changed time of each record, how many there are, and whether you turned on a PIN. We are not going to pretend otherwise — it is stated plainly in section 3.2 of the privacy policy.

Can Kvit be used as contraception?

No. Kvit is not a contraceptive and does not identify “safe days”. The fertile window is shown as a guide, not a guarantee. For contraception, speak to a clinician.

Is there advertising? Does the app run analytics?

There is no advertising: Kvit contains no advertising libraries, and your entries are not sold or passed to ad networks. There is analytics — the app uses Google Analytics to understand which screens get used. Your entries are not part of it: they are encrypted with a key that never leaves the phone, so Google does not see them.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

Send a request on the account deletion page — you do not need the app installed. The account, the cloud copy, feedback and referral data are removed. Data on the phone itself leaves with the app.

How much does the subscription cost?

The App Store or Google Play shows the price in your currency — it depends on your region. Cycle, calendar, forecasts, pregnancy (current and past weeks), the trackers and the cloud copy are available free and without a subscription.

Which languages does Kvit support?

Ukrainian, English and Polish.

Cycle, calendar and forecasts are free. No ads, and your entries are never sold.
